It's (probably not) the end of the world as we know it.

It just occurred to me that it's just a few hours before CERN fires up the Large Hadron Collider for the first time. If the cranks and crackpots are correct it's only a matter of time before it creates some sort of black hole or strange particles and destroys us all. Okay, not really. Just in case you're still worried, though, this site will keep you up to date on the current status of the universe's existence.

I have to say I'm pretty excited, even though it'll be a while before actual scientific results start to come out. This thing could hold the key to a greater understanding of how the universe works. It's hard not to get behind something like that.
